FAQs
Mobile grooming means I bring the full grooming salon to you! My fully equipped, self-contained van parks right in your driveway or curbside (where if safe to do so), providing a private, quiet, and stress-free grooming experience for your dog—and convenience for you— without the hassle or anxiety of driving to and from a salon.
Your dog will enjoy a peaceful spa day. Unlike high volume salon environments where speed is key, the mobile setting allows the time and space to prioritize grooming at your dog’s pace. Your dog receives one-on-one care, with the same groomer every time, in a familiar and calm environment, making the process easier and more comfortable for both you and your dog.
The duration of your dog’s appointment will vary. Typically grooming will take 1-3 hours depending on:
- coat type and the coat’s specific grooming care requirements,
- condition of the coat (matting or debris),
- the dog’s tolerance for grooming,
- behavioral challenges, such as: first-time grooming sessions (especially puppies), anxious or nervous dogs, senior dogs, or dogs with health limitations.
- Multiple pet households will take longer.
Your dog’s degree of tolerance for grooming will ultimately determine the time needed for proper care. Just like humans, our dogs can have good days and bad days, but lack the ability to tell us outright. Working with live animals can be unpredictable. Every pet is different, and every appointment is tailored to the individual dog’s needs on the given day.
I generally book out a few weeks in advance. Individual dogs needs require different time slots and service area routing is also considered. Most of my clients commit to a regular 4 or 6 week grooming schedule to ensure their spot.
However, cancellations do happen from time to time — so feel free to reach out! I will do my best to accommodate you as soon as possible.
My regular grooming hours are Tu-Fr 7am-5pm. If you require grooming outside of these hours, additional fees apply. Please call to discuss options.
I service Massachusetts only, in Attleboro, MA and surrounds towns, including: North Attleboro, Plainville, Franklin, and parts of Bellingham and Norfolk. Wrentham, Foxboro, Mansfield, Norton, parts of Easton, and some parts of Taunton, Rehoboth and Seekonk, MA, north of Rt. 44. Additional areas will be considered upon request, depending on scheduling and route availability.
Due mostly to parking difficulties I do not service apartment complexes, hotels, or temporary living.
I am currently accepting dogs up to 100 lbs.
For safety and comfort, dogs must be able to get into and out of the bath tub with minimal assistance. Dogs between 80-100 lbs with mobility issues will be consulted with on a case-by-case basis to ensure safety.
My top grooming priorities are providing your dog a safe, as well as calm and personalized grooming experience. If I feel a larger dog would be better served in a different setting, I’m happy to refer you to trusted professional colleagues with additional staff support who are better equipped to accommodate larger breeds.
(On a case-by-case basis, I sometimes groom larger breeds for local animal shelters and rescue efforts, where trained assistance is available to me.)
1.) Begin by completing a New Customer Intake Form
Here you will be required to upload a current photo of your dog and up-to-date veterinarian’s vaccination records for: Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), and Bordetella.
(A current titer is acceptable. A veterinarian’s exemption letter may also be accepted with specific stipulations to ensure a safe grooming environment for all pets in my care.)
2.) Intake Phone call
Once I receive your completed New Customer Intake Form and vaccines, I will schedule a phone call to introduce myself, learn more about you and your dog, and discuss your dog’s grooming needs. During this call we will also book your first two appointments.
To ensure consistent care and availability, clients are asked to commit to a regular 4 or 6 week grooming schedule after their second appointment. This helps with mobile routing and guarantees your dog’s spot on my schedule.
Absolutely! A current Rabies vaccination is required by law, and I strictly adhere to that standard for the safety of all pets and people involved.
I also require current Distemper/Parvo (DHPP or DAPP or DA2PP, etc) and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccines, or a valid titer test. A veterinarian’s exemption letter may also be accepted with specific stipulations to ensure a safe grooming environment for all pets in my care.
You will need to provide proof of current vaccines before scheduling your appointment, and it is your responsibility to ensure vaccines stay up to date.
I am completely self contained! The van has everything I need to provide a calm and comfortable experience for your dog, including: electricity, heated water, air conditioning for warm weather and heating for cold weather. The van is powered by a state of the art Eco-Friendly battery-operated power system, which is quiet and does not vibrate the van like generators do. The quiet setting is particularly helpful for anxious dogs, over a generator system.
All I will need is a safe and relatively flat parking spot with 10 1/2 foot clearance above the van.
On rare occasion, (for dog’s on the larger side of my weight limit, or at times perhaps for skin restoration services), I may ask to use some of your water. I carry a hose on board just in case. But typically I will have plenty of water with me, as well as everything else I will need to groom your dog.
Note: I request that you schedule your landscaping services, or other outside workers, for times when your dog is not being groomed. The van does have windows which allow your dog to see and smell their familiar surroundings. It is very distracting for both your dog and myself, and can even be dangerous, particularly for anxious or rambunctious dogs. I will cover the windows if necessary, but limiting the commotion around the van is beneficial for your dogs experience. Thank you.
How to Help Maximize Your Dog’s Enjoyment of Grooming
-
Exercise Before Grooming: Take your dog for a walk or engage in playtime before the appointment. A well-exercised dog tends to be more relaxed and less anxious during grooming.
-
Potty Time: Please ensure your dog has gone to the bathroom before the appointment. During grooming, your dog will be in the tub or on the grooming table for an extended time, and sometimes cleaning the sanitary area can trigger the need to go. To keep your dog comfortable and prevent accidents, potty time beforehand is best. Occasional accidents are understandable, but repeated incidents may incur a $10 clean-up fee. If your dog needs special accommodations or has a medical condition, please inform me in advance.
-
Leashes and Collars: Please remove flea collars and have your dog securely leashed with a harness or collar when I arrive. Retractable leashes are not permitted. If you do not have a suitable leash or harness, let me know and I can provide one.
-
Scheduling Outdoor Service Workers: Please schedule landscaping or other outdoor services for times when your dog is not being groomed. The van’s windows allow your dog to see and smell their familiar surroundings, which can help them feel calm and comfortable. However, unnecessary distractions from outdoor commotion can be unsettling and even unsafe—especially for anxious or energetic dogs. While I can cover the windows if needed, minimizing outside noise and activity helps ensure a calmer, safer grooming experience. Thank you for your understanding.
The van needs to be parked on a relatively flat surface. And I will not maneuver the van up or down an excessively long and narrow or tortuous driveway, narrow alley, nor parallel park. If it is safe (and flat) to park curbside on your street, I will need at least 25 feet of legal clear curbside space. Likewise, I need a minimum of 10 1/2 feet in height clearance. Please ensure all low hanging trees and branches are removed. Thank you.
To prioritize your dog’s safety, typically I advise against owners inside the van during grooming. Pets can become overly excited or distracted with their owner nearby, which increases the risk of injury when using sharp grooming tools. For the same reason, I also ask that you avoid standing near the windows or knocking on the van. Once grooming starts, the van will be locked for safety—if you need to reach me, please call me directly. During grooming, I do not check texts and only pick up the phone for the pet parent whose dog I am currently with.
You’re absolutely welcome to tour the van before we begin, and I’m happy to explain the process.
In certain cases, a pet parent may be allowed in the grooming van to support a dog who is still assimilating to the grooming experience. These situations are at my discretion. My goal is always your dog’s comfort, while also building their confidence and long-term success with the grooming process.
Puppies’ first grooming appointments should be scheduled no more than 2 weeks after their last set of vaccines, or as soon as their veterinarian has approved grooming. Typically puppies are about 4 months old when ready to start grooming. To prepare your puppy to enjoy a lifetime of grooming, I will schedule a series of 4 introduction sessions, 1-2 weeks apart, during which puppies will learn that grooming is safe and will become familiar with the sounds, smells, and routines of grooming.
Post-Surgery Policy: Dogs who have undergone surgery, including spay or neuter procedures, must wait a minimum of two full weeks and/or receive veterinarian approval before being groomed. It is the owner’s responsibility to inform me of any recent surgeries and to obtain confirmation from your veterinarian that grooming is safe to proceed.
Female Dogs in Heat
If your female dog is intact, please perform a quick toilet-paper check on the day of your appointment to ensure she is not in heat.
If she is actively in heat, please reschedule. Grooming during this time can be uncomfortable and stressful for your dog and may increase the risk of complications.
If signs of heat are discovered after grooming has begun, payment for services performed up to that point will be due, and we will need to book a new appointment to complete the remaining services once her cycle has fully ended.
There are several ways to contact me. You may email me through my website.
You may also call or text: 508-838-8569 to leave a message and I will get back to you. Text is typically the quickest way to get in touch.
Please note: It is rare to reach me directly, unless I am currently grooming your dog. While grooming, I do not take phone calls or respond to text messages in order to ensure the safety and best experience for the dog in my care.
I try to be as responsive as possible and strive to reply within 2-3 days. Text messages often receive a quicker response. Office hours are typically M-F from 5-7pm which is when I return most phone calls and messages.
I accept cash, and checks written out to: Trust and Harmony Mobile Grooming, LLC.
Payment is due at the time of service. Returned checks will incur a $50.00 charge plus bank fees.
For the first visit, I require the pet owner to be present to facilitate my meet and greet with you and your pet. This initial interaction helps build trust and allows me to understand the specific needs and preferences of your pet. It also gives me a chance to assess your dog’s coat and to notice any difficulties that might not have been apparent to you. I can then determine the best plan for your dog’s grooming needs and relay this plan to you.
After the first visit, if you won’t be home during a future appointment, please designate an authorized handler to be present for both handing your dog over and receiving them back. Please provide your appointed contact’s name and phone number.
Latch-key will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Sorry, I don’t offer grooming services for cats — I specialize in dog grooming only.
At Trust and Harmony Mobile Grooming, LLC, I am committed to providing a safe, stress-free, and humane grooming experience for every dog in my care.
As a Fear Free Certified Professional Groomer, I use force-free and stress reducing grooming methods. This means:
- I will never use force or restraint beyond what is necessary for safety, nor utilize any techniques that cause fear or discomfort. I use only positive reinforcement methods designed to work “with” your dog, not “on” your dog.
- If a dog is highly anxious or showing signs of extreme stress, I will adjust my approach to satisfy the individual dog’s needs. Or I may stop the grooming session that day, for the benefit of the dog’s well-being.
- Services will be tailored to your dog’s comfort level, which for highly anxious dogs may mean multiple shorter sessions to build your dog’s confidence and comfort.
- Client Expectation: While I will do my best to complete a full groom, or the entirety of what the session set out to accomplish, aesthetic outcomes may be adjusted based on your dog’s tolerance. Your pet’s emotional and physical well-being always comes first.
